Another One Bites The Dust
What is it with big beer companies? Do they think we are all stupid? (Well, probably yes).

MURRAY’S MADNESS IN MELBOURNE
Murrays update from the Melbourne Good Food and Wine Show

NO BULL AND BLAND BEER
a quick note from Murray.

"So you want to start Cycling?"
A Special Report by Adrian (Liggett) Leggett, Murray’s roving cycling reporter and good mate

Quick Note: AIDA
Murray’s Sassy Blonde and Nirvana Pale Ale won two more medals at the Australian International Beer Awards announced in Melbourne today. The Silver Medals are a great result for our little brewery given the standard of competition this year. The field was strong and silver for both the beers we entered is a great result. We’ve come a long way in just over 12 months! Other interesting results from this year’s competition included the beer awarded ‘Best Victorian Beer’ – Stella Artois! We always thought it was Belgian, but there you go… No hiding where it is really brewed now eh boys?? We’ll get back to doing what we do best – brewing great single batch craft beers we love to drink right here in Taylors Arm NSW.

CBF

"CBF, what's that?" said my bland beer mate, Barry Fuller.

Before I get to that, you'll probably notice this blog is posted together with photos of the Sydney Flying Squadron at Kirribilli . . .

This Valentine’s Day, forget the champagne and woo her with beer!

“You’ve got to be joking!” said my bland beer mate, Barry ‘Bloody’ Fuller.

 “Why not?” I say...

A Good Looking Sassy Blonde
Beer drinkers get a little confused with our Sassy Blonde – and that’s not unreasonable with so many ‘blonde’ beers currently on the market.

Brewing an Icon
When I joined the team up here, if there was one beer I was really looking forward to brewing it was the Icon 2IPA. Loads of malt, loads of hops – a full- on beer in every way.

Not a suit in site

Our resident bush poet, Barry ‘Bloody’ Fuller (yes, he’s the bloke in the photo), just called me to say he’s tasted our Anniversary Ale and doesn’t like it.

Murray's Blogg

It’s naughty, I know, but after driving past the Sydney warehouse of a major liquor distributor every day this week I couldn’t help being pissed off and decided I must share this with you.

Quick Note: History of Craft Beer
Although mead was probably the first alcoholic beverage, beer is believed to pre-date wine by a few thousand years.

Beer, unlike wine and mead, did not make itself. It is generally held that wise people in several cultures, which included Egyptians, Chinese, Africans and several South American civilizations, independently 'invented' beer around 8,000 years ago.

Whether this invention was an accident by bakers or somewhat more scientific, early cultures shared the belief that the magic of fermentation was a 'gift from the heavens'. Seems some things don't change over time!

Quick Note: But I don't like beer...
Crazy comment for some... but one heard much too often!  To advise a beer to try for those who "don't like beer" read this article!

Craft Beer Industry in Australia
The launch of Murray's Craft Brewing Co. on New Year's Eve 2005 comes at a time when the popularity of handcrafted beers is rapidly gathering pace around the world. In the United States, the craft beer industry has grown every year for the last 35 years, with almost 1400 craft breweries currently operating in that country.

What is "craft beer"
Originally called "microbrewed" beer, craft beer is produced by breweries of all sizes that emphasise quality, aroma and flavour. These beers are generally all-malt beers made...
