Murray’s Craft Brewing Co. is proudly a 100% Australian-owned craft brewer whose beers are lovingly handmade from our base on the Mid North Coast of NSW. Established in late 2006 by passionate craft beer enthusiast, Murray Howe, Murray’s Craft Brewing Co. has quickly gained a reputation as Australia’s most extreme brewer. Today our range of unconventional, often unique and always full-flavoured craft beers is available across Australia – as well as in Singapore. The world-class quality of our ales is recognised through a fast-growing following of beer lovers, as well as multiple international and Australian beer awards.
Typically, Murray’s beers are atypical – they’re not true to style, and contain different ingredients that make them stand out from the rest. As you can probably tell, we could go on about this for hours . . .but enough philosophising!
Let your taste buds do the rest of the talking, and experience Murray’s handcrafted beers for yourself.

“Wild Thing” Imperial Stout. ABV 10%. OG
1,100.
Inspired by the great
stouts favoured by Russian Imperial Court, Murray’s “Wild Thing” Imperial Stout
is a beer fit for a Czar. A massive, intense drinking experience. The colour is
black. Totally black. The heart of darkness. Impossible to see
through even when held up to the light – nothing insipid about this
beer. Aromas of strong dark chocolate, a little fruitiness from
the hops and yeast and some rumminess from the alcohol. The flavour is an
intense hit of mocha – bitter dark chocolate bordering on coffee. Some malt
sweetness but an aggressive hop bitterness and roast grain bite to
balance. And then there’s the mouthfeel… Full bodied is an
understatement. Massive mouthfillling malt that almost overwhelms, before the
freight train of the bitterness from the hops and the roast acidity kicks in to
clean up the palate. A tiny batch of a huge beer – only 1100 bottles brewed. A
beer to savour if you dare!

Murray’s Grand Cru Autumn Seasonal
is a Trippel made with authentic Belgian yeast and pours a pale straw colour with a fluffy white head. Hints of banana and bubblegum, backed with dry-hopped spiciness of the Hallertau hops dominate the aroma and flavour. This is balanced by silky biscuity malt flavours. This intense ale finishes full-bodied with a mellow bitterness. Pair this distinctive ale with wild game bird or strong oily fish like salmon.

Made in
the vaguely in the Robust Porter style, but due to the alcohol content can be
classed as ‘Imperial. Made from selected roasted malts, Murray’s Best Extra Porter is full bodied,
rich and complex. Pouring with a deep ruby colour and creamy off-white coloured
head, our Porter has an aroma of caramel and bittersweet chocolate, which
follows through in the flavour and finishes with a firm but balanced
bitterness.
Ideal to drink
on its own but is a perfect accompaniment with your favourite chocolate dessert.

Murray
’s Icon 2IPA is an international award-winning beer that we believe is among the hoppiest beers brewed in the southern hemisphere. It’s a hybrid of an Imperial India Pale Ale and an American India Pale Ale. It's deep golden in colour, with a creamy white head. The extensive hopping creates intense citrus, passionfruit, and peppery characters in the aroma and flavour. This is balanced by sweet biscuity malt, and finishes with a full body that is rich with a rounded bitterness. It’s a beer to be enjoyed on its own, however it does go well with Mexican, Thai and Indian food.

A big beer. A
very
big beer. Murray’s Anniversary Ale has a strong malt backbone with lingering caramel/toffee notes that is balanced by the assertive bitterness and aggressive hop flavour. The aroma of toffee and caramel blends with the citrusy/spicy profile provided by the generous quantities of New Zealand’s finest aroma hops. Added to all this is the subtle flavour and aroma of oak contributed by half the batch being conditioned in old Merlot oak casks for an extended period and blended back with a fresher batch before bottling. The result is a subtle but evident oak contribution that further contributes to the complexity of this monster beer. A celebration of our first year – savour it, you won’t taste anything else like it!

An extreme beer. A strong malt backbone with lingering caramel/toffee notes is balanced by the assertive bitterness, aggressive hop flavour and subtle oakiness. Half the batch has been fermented with a Belgian yeast then conditioned in old shiraz oak casks for a month. The second half has been fermented with a normal ale yeast and the two blended together before bottling. The result is a complex ale with a subtle but evident oak flavour and aroma.

Murray’s Sassy Blond
is a Belgian-style Pale Ale, and we believe it's the only beer of its kind brewed in the country. A deep, golden colour with a tight, off-white head, Murray’s Sassy Belgian Blond has a spicy-orange flavour and aroma, with hints of toasty/biscuity malt and finishing with restrained bitterness. The unique characteristics of this beer are derived from a distinctive Belgian yeast and imported Styrian Golding hops. With a moderate alcohol content of 4.5% alc/vol, Graeme recommends Murray’s Sassy Belgian Blond as an excellent accompaniment to seafood.

Murray’s Nirvana Pale Ale
is a hybrid of an American Pale Ale, combined with the classic English Pale Ale. A brilliant light-golden colour, Murray’s Nirvana Pale Ale has a full-bodied finish and complex character. With an alcohol content of 4.5% alc/vol, Nirvana’s fresh citrusy/spicy aroma and flavour is strongly influenced by generous use of New Zealand-grown Cascade and Hallertau hops. This is well balanced with biscuity/toffee flavours from selected caramalts.
Winner of a Silver medal at the New Zealand International Beer Awards 2006, and a Bronze medal at this year’s Australian International Beer Awards, Murray’s Nirvana Pale Ale will be available all year round. Graeme says it’s great on its own, or an excellent accompaniment to spicy Thai, Indian or Vietnamese food.

Murray’s Elephant Head
is our interpretation of Pilsner made loosely in the North German style. The intense citrusy aroma and flavour delivered by the classic New Zealand B Saaz hop, is balanced by sweet biscuity malt and finishes with a refreshing bitterness. A classic food match with shellfish.

’s Sunrise Wheat Beer is based on the traditional Belgian Wit beer style and made from both malted and unmalted grains, coriander and orange peel, with a touch of Australian Yellow Box honey. The beer pours with a pale straw colour and compact white head. The citrusy aroma is backed up in the mouth with ripples of spicy tartness providing a clean, smooth and refreshing finish. Fantastic with mussels steamed in beer, or try with a salad.
